For Bootable Diskette:
1. Perform a full backup of your data.
2. Click on the (BR217232.EXE) file and select RUN then RUN again.
3. Choose Continue in the next window to create a bootable
floppy.
4. Close all applications and restart system.
5. Press F12 and insert the floppy disk containing the firmware update.
6. Select boot from Floppy.
7. The Samsung Firmware Update will start automatically.
8. The utility will autoscan and update the appropiate Samsung HM400LI or HM500LI Drive.
9. Once completed, a message indicating process completion will appear.
10. Remove the floppy diskette and power off your system.
11. Power on your system to continue normal operation.

For Bootable CD option
1. Perform a full backup of your data.
2. Click on the (R217232.EXE) file and select RUN then RUN again.
3. Press Continue then OK to extract the files to the provided location.
4. Refer to your CD burning application instructions to create a bootable CD using the provided file C:DELLDriversR217232CD ImageSamsung Utility.ISO.
