• MICROSOFT Windows XP SP3 (Service Pack 3) and all updates must be installed before installing the Gobi™ UNDP-1 Image.
• If you have performed a clean install of the Microsoft Windows XP operating system (i.e., installed from a commercial, off-the-shelf, version rather than using the Recovery Wizard, Recovery Media Kit), or the SONY® XP downgrade DVD, please ensure that all Device Drivers for Windows XP from the SONY support site,including the wireless WAN Driver for the Qualcomm® HS-USB MODEM 9222, have been installed.
• Install the SmartWi Connection Utility to turn on and off the Qualcomm HS-USB MODEM 9222 Driver.
• Install the VZAcess Manager Utility in order to establish a Verizon Connection, after all Drivers have been installed.
• During the installation of Sony VGN-P698E Notebook Gobi™ UNDP-1 Image for Windows XP file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no Other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all Other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• Sony VGN-P698E Notebook Gobi™ UNDP-1 Image for Windows XP is highly recommended that you print out these instructions for use as a reference during the installation process.

Download and Installation Instructions

To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.

Download the UNDOTH-16490200-XP.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).

Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the UNDOTH-16490200-XP.EXE file to begin the installation.

At the Gobi UNDP-1 Image screen, click Next.

At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click I Agree to continue with the installation.

At the Qualcomm Gobi Driver License Agreement dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, select I Agree, then click Next to continue with the installation.

At the Installation Complete screen, click Close.

At the Finished screen, click Finish.

The installation of the Gobi UNDP-1 image is complete.

2. Find VGN-P698E Mini model drivers
3. Select Sony VGN-P698E Notebook Gobi™ UNDP-1 Image for your Windows XP

4. Download and Install Sony VGN-P698E Notebook Gobi™ UNDP-1 Image for Windows XP
5. Reboot to finish Sony VGN-P698E Notebook Gobi™ UNDP-1 Image installation.
